Cancer research Fero Foundation convened the sixth annual scholarship Fero in translational cancer research, with the aim of promoting cancer research in Spain. With the creation of scholarships Fero wishes to promote the training of young researchers, oncologists and thus promote the rapid transmission of scientific advances to patients with cancer.
the Fero Foundation wants to promote trials to speed up approval of new drugs in Spain and Europe. He collaborates with international research groups to develop a scientific production of the highest level, and contributes to the development of new projects and the training of young researchers through the award of scholarships.
the sixth edition of the Fero scholarship is intended to recognize a scientific project with a high potential for clinical applicability presented by professionals working in Spanish institutions involved in this type of research.
Fero scholarship will be granted therefore he deemed best translational research project in the field of medical oncology.
scholarship Endowment is 70,000 euros for a two-year research project. Those interested in the scholarship will have time to submit your application until April 8, 2014.
the award of the scholarship will be resolved by a jury formed for this purpose, chaired by Prof. Carlos López Otín and consisting of a panel of prestigious cancer researchers, namely: Dr. Joaquín Arribas, Dr. José Baselga, Dr. Andrés Cervantes, Dr. Luis Paz-Ares, Dr. Julio Celis and Dr. Josep Tabernero.
candidates must meet the following requirements:
be researchers working in Spanish institutions involved in cancer research.
Direct programs/groups/teams of research emerging or developing consolidation (between 0 and 10 years from obtaining the PhD or MD).
They have focused their work on translational cancer research with a high component of clinical application.
Submit a science project with potential clinical application. The memory must be submitted in English.
all applications must be sent electronically a: beca@Fero.org. The proposals will have a maximum length of 15 pages + CV. Requests shall be submitted by the Principal investigator and must include:
1) letter of introduction signed by the Principal investigator, which will identify the title of the project, name and postal and electronic address of the applicant, justifying their ownership or rights over the project. Apart from the I.P., the application shall be signed by all the participants of the project.
2) the memory must be submitted in English and meet the following requirements:
– project title and name of the members of the research team, mentioning the Principal investigator.
– Name, postal and electronic address of the applicant.

– project background project summary.
– objectives of the project and its justification.
– work Plan for the year 2014 and 2015.
– list of publications of the Principal investigator and team members.
– economic report of the project.
– title of other non related to the presented projects in which he is participating actively.
– This memory, apart from stick in an orderly manner to the requirements above, not to follow the order of a preset template.

) abbreviated Curriculum Vitae of the members of the research team.
4) letter of the scientist/School Management Committee, as proving the viability of the project in the Centre.
5) in the event that the project working with samples from patients or patients to participate, present letter/document of acceptance of evaluation of the institutional ethics committee or have either been approved officially.
6) in the event that animals participate in the project, present the acceptance of the appropriate Ethics Committee.
7) document model informed consent.
all the documentation should be submitted in PDF format.
A year of granted the scholarship will be sent to the address indicated initially, a report indicating the status of the project. Shall be recorded by Fero support in publications resulting from the project.
